PLA is the most widely used plastic filament material in FDM 3D printing, due to its low melting point, high strength, low thermal expansion, and good layer adhesion, although it possesses poor heat resistance unless annealed. this may need some post processing, such as sanding and priming before painting (if that is your intention) this is NOT suitable for applications where there will be temperatures above 60c as it has a tendency to warp above these temperatures. It is also NOT suitable for miniatures such as units, tanks etc as the detail level of miniatures cannot be achieved with FDM. it is suitable however for applications like miniature terrain such as buildings, bridges, scenery etc.
